Christina Sackeyfio, MBA, MA, CCIP Thoughts On Inclusion For me, inclusion is deeply connected to leadership: It is not simply what you do, but how you do it. It's a lens for how an organization and its leaders work.
Throughout my career, I have worked in and with organizations that have expressed a strong commitment to inclusion. Overtime, a clear pattern has emerged. The organizations that were most successful were those that saw inclusion as a process. In these organizations, inclusion became deeper, engaging, more impactful, and the impacts were vitally sustainable. The organizations that tended to struggle were those that saw inclusion as an output. Focused on the low-hanging fruit, they often overlooked big-picture strategic questions about inclusion and missed out on crucial opportunities to enhance their business.
For this reason, I believe the most effective leaders are inclusive leaders. They are the leaders who inspire others to join them on their journeys and make these journeys more enriching-- leaders who value inclusion as a process, a practice, and a culture.
While this might make inclusion seem daunting, once the basic building blocks have been set the work becomes easier.
Professional Experience and Approach I have been a change agent and implementation lead for a wide range of DEI-related initiatives. As an educator, strategist and engagement professional, I have developed a unique skill-set around designing dynamic and responsive inclusion initiatives using simple tools for easy implementation, management and measurement. With this approach, I have worked with a wide range of organizations to foster more welcoming environments and improved experiences.
I have a successful track record of using inclusion as a lens to inform the following areas of work:
Corporate Strategy Facilitation
Leadership Development
Learning and Development (group workshops and coaching)
Stakeholder Engagement
Cross-Sector Partnership Development
Community Consultations and Public Education, and
Evaluation.
